🗣️ Mr Christopher Fernandez-Packham

I ordered this for a daily tea pot for loose leaf tea from M&S. It is cracking. Easy to set up, and to brew 1-2 mugs of loose leaf tea. Cleaning is easy, just take out the infuser. As usual you have to tap the used leaves into a bin, then rinse. You will have tea stains on the infuser because that's what tea brewing does. Can't recommend highly enough.

🗣️ Mrs C.

Ideal replacement for our previous teapot. Does the job perfectly. Lightweight and a good price. Arrived on time and well-packaged. Would buy again.

🗣️ Kedi Nong

I’ve been using this teapot almost daily for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with it. The glass is crystal clear and feels sturdy — it’s great to watch the tea leaves unfurl while it brews. The size is perfect for serving two to four people, and the stainless steel infuser does a good job keeping loose leaves contained. One thing I really appreciate is that it's stovetop-safe. I’ve used it directly on my gas burner a few times with no issues. It heats evenly and feels safe to handle. Cleaning is also super easy — I usually just rinse it out and let it air dry. If I had one small suggestion, it would be to slightly thicken the handle for a more comfortable grip, but that’s a minor point. Overall, it’s a beautiful and practical teapot that works just as described. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys loose leaf tea.

🗣️ Morgan

When this very well packaged teapot arrived we were not too sure how often we would use it. However, it is in use every single day and has been used for many months. The overall quality of the teapot is good. The glass is thick enough to offer confidence in it lasting. The spout is a great pourer, no drips. The lid fits solidly, with some holes for steam evaporation. The infuser is well made and solid with the smallest of holes, which is great for fine cut leaves and larger pieces alike. We do not see particles or bits in the tea. The handle does get hot but not unbearably so. Overall an excellent value for money teapot that holds a great capacity of brewed tea and has done so for us for many months, used daily. Very much recommended.

FAQ

How durable Are These Teapots, Especially The Glass Parts?

You’ll want to handle both teapots with care since they feature glass components that, while sturdy, can be fragile. The Café Olé teapot uses toughened glass but it’s not Pyrex, so sudden temperature changes might cause it to crack.

A good tip is to warm the glass gently with some warm water before adding boiling water to reduce the risk of breakage. The Ehugos teapot is made from thick borosilicate glass designed to withstand stovetop heat, so it’s more resilient if you want to brew directly on a burner. Still, avoid rapid temperature shifts and always handle with care to keep your teapot in great shape.

What Should I Consider When Choosing Between These Two Teapots?

It really depends on how you like to brew and serve your tea. If you usually make tea for one or two people and prefer a simple, lightweight option, the Café Olé teapot at £10.00 is a great budget-friendly choice with a handy infuser basket. However, if you want a larger capacity to serve more guests or enjoy the visual experience of watching tea leaves unfurl, the Ehugos teapot at £22.99 offers 1.5 litres and is stovetop safe, which adds versatility.

Also consider cleaning preferences: both are dishwasher safe, but handwashing is recommended for the Café Olé to preserve its finish. Think about your brewing habits and how much tea you typically enjoy at once.

How Do I Get The Best Brewing Results With These Teapots?

To brew the perfect cup, start by placing your loose leaf tea into the infuser basket—don’t overfill it, as leaves need room to expand. Pour boiling water carefully into the pot, making sure the lid fits snugly to avoid leaks.

With the Café Olé, leave the tea to infuse between 20 seconds and a minute depending on your taste, then remove the infuser to stop brewing. The Ehugos teapot’s stainless steel infuser has fine holes that keep even small leaf particles out of your cup, so you can enjoy a clear brew.

After brewing, rinse the infuser and pot promptly to prevent stains and residue build-up. If you want your tea to stay warm longer, consider pre-warming the pot with hot water before brewing.
