Generate and Monetize Amazon Roundups

As a member of the Amazon Associates Program, you can earn a commission on qualifying Amazon offers. If you're new to the Amazon Associates program, here is a brief overview of Amazon's value proposition:

The Problem

Amazon only provides you with links to products leaving you on your own to figure out how to get links in front of an audience that convert to purchases. No one wants to feel spammed when you share links and producing high value content with links embedded takes time.

The Solution

When you generate Amazon Roundups, you share valuable insights with readers which can lead to higher clickthrough rates, purchases, and resulting in higher affiliate earnings. By helping people make informed buying decisions, people are grateful for the time you took to do the research and inform them. A Roundup can help you boost affiliate earnings but using AI to generate a Roundup can reduce your time and costs, maximizing your investment in Amazon's affiliate program.

Whether you share a Roundup with the Roundups community or publish your Roundup to your existing blog, each product featured in your Roundup includes a clear call-to-action to purchase.

Simply add an Amazon Affiliate ID to your Roundups profile and AI will generate links to Amazon from your Roundups that include your Amazon Affiliate tracking ID. Here are the benefits and a step-by-step guide to getting an Amazon Affiliate ID and adding it to Roundups.

How Much Can I Earn?

The Amazon Associates Program provides an easy way to generate income by driving traffic to Amazon resulting in transactions.

You need to apply for the program and if you’re approved you will be given an Affiliate ID which you can input into your Roundups settings page. If someone clicks a link in a Roundup you publish and and makes a purchase on Amazon, you’ll earn a commission.

Amazon offers different commissions for different programs, but you should expect to earn between 1% and 20% depending on the product categories featured in your Roundup.

Product Category Fixed Standard Program Commission Rates
Amazon Games 20.00%
Amazon Kindle Accessories, Apparel, Jewelry, Luggage, Luxury Beauty, Shoes, Handbags & Accessories, Beauty 10.00%
Furniture, Home, Home Improvement, Lawn & Garden, Outdoors, Pets Products 9.00%
Musical Instruments 7.00%
Business & Industrial Supplies, Kitchen, Sports 6.00%
Physical Books, Software 5.50%
Baby Products, Camera, Cell Phones & Accessories, Electronics, Major Appliances, Office Products, Personal Care Appliances, Home Entertainment, Mobile Electronics 5.00%
Amazon Kindle Devices, Tools 4.50%
DVD & Blu-Ray, Physical Music, Automotive 3.50%
Digital Books, Health & Personal Care, Toys 3.00%
Digital Videos, Gift Cards, PC 2.00%
Grocery, Physical Video Games 1.00%
Amazon Appstore 0.00%
All Other Categories 4.00%

While different product categories pay out different rates, the amount you can earn as Roundups user depends less on the category and more about delivering value an audience you can engage with content. In short, if you're simply sharing links to products available for purchase, you won't succeed, but if you consider various factors that focus on providing value to a Roundups reader, then you should expect positive results.

  • Your target audience and what will resonate with your audience matter. While the musical instruments category has a higher payout, if you have a blog with cooking recipies, you'll probably want to focus your Roundups that feature kitchenware and/or the grocery category of products, as Roundups that feature products from these categories will resonate with an audience and are more likely to convert to commissions.
  • The quality of your Roundup content matters. If your Roundups provide a unique perspective and delivers value to a reader, you'll engage an audience and build authority on a subject in the eyes of Google Search
  • While quality matters over quanity, continue to do more of what works. Double down on content that engages and produces results.
  • Diversify your Roundups to sustain engagement. Don't just re-generate roundups of the same products with different headlines. Consider different Roundups with different collections of products. No one likes spam, so consider variety.
  • Timing and the right frequency matters. Too many Roundups and you'll disengage an audience, but the right content at the right time can be super effective at driving a call-to-action. If a major shopping holiday is on the horizon, publish and share Roundups that bring the upcoming reason to shop into focus with your headline and product selections.
  • Where you publish your Roundup matters. If you already have an existing Wordpress blog with an existing audience, publish to it to add value to it and monetize your audience. If you don't have a blog, it's going to be easier to just publish directly to Roundups and use our domain to gain visibility and traffic.

Amazon Associates Program Requirements

You must meet certain requirements to join. These are outlined in Amazon’s program policies, which over thincgs like prohibiting stolen content or targeting websites toward children.

After you sign up, Amazon will review your initial activity. If your account doesn’t meet the performance standards, your account may be rejected or terminated.

One advantage to publishing Roundups to our website, vs. your own blog is that you need to have recent and original content and be able to demonstrate enough traffic to show you can drive sales effectively. Websites must be publicly accessible and contain at least 10 original posts, with content published within the last 60 days. Additionally, you must make at least three qualifying sales within your first 180 days as an affiliate. While there are no ongoing performance requirements, maintaining engagement can help improve your standing and pubilshing directly to Roundups can help you maintain your performance requirements. Both of these are requirements that would be satisfied when you public content to the Roundups website.

Common reasons for rejection

If your application is rejected, it’s usually due to one of the following issues:

  • Failure to make three qualifying sales within the first 180 days.
  • Lack of original content that provides a unique experience or valuable insights.
  • Improper use of affiliate links.
  • Content or practices that don’t comply with Amazon’s guidelines.

You can track your earnings through the Amazon Associates dashboard and Amazon will pay you directly for commissions!

Steps 8: Create Amazon Roundups

Now that you've connected your Amazon Associates account, create a new Roundup and select Amazon as the type of Roundup to create

One piece of advice is to generate guides with products that will resonate with your audience. Just because some product categories have higher payouts. that doesn't result in higher commissions. Good products that your audience would be interested in is what will convert best to purchases and lead to higher commissions.
